As the festive season unfolds, Covent Garden becomes a magical wonderland, with unexpected delights revealed around every corner…
Some stories are passed down in writing, others come to life in spoken word, but the stuff of legend is sewn into the fabric of history. This year, as the Battle of Hastings marks its 960th anniversary, the Bayeux Tapestry has made its way to the British Museum, just a short stroll from One Aldwych. Quite possibly the greatest story ever sewn, its 70 metres, 58 scenes and more than 600 embroidered figures tell a tale of ambition, betrayal and one very famous arrow. This Christmas, we’re dedicating the season to the makers of the world, with a festive stay in Covent Garden that weaves a little history, a little mischief and a lot of seasonal sparkle into your weekend.
