The Story of Skye Weavers

British craftsmanship is all around us at One Aldwych, from our exquisite furnishings and textiles to our luxurious bathroom amenities and spa products, all produced in the UK

Skye Weavers

When we unveiled our new elegant, jewel-like guest rooms and suites, we wanted our guests to experience the homely comfort of snuggling up under a warming wool throw.  It was, therefore, a real delight when our General Manager discovered Skye Weavers, a small weaving company on the Hebridean Isle of Skye, on a well-timed trip to Scotland.

Skye Weavers have created a range of bespoke throws exclusively for One Aldwych, designed in harmony with Robert Angell’s soft, relaxing colour schemes – coral, celadon green, soft blue and lavender.  Every room and suite at One Aldwych now features its own Skye Weavers throw and our guests have fallen in love with them just as much as we have.

Scottish provenance and traditional principles make Skye Weavers truly unique and each throw is made by a multi-skilled team with care and precision.  Woollen yarns are spun locally and woven on the bicycle pedal-powered loom in a small weaving shed and then sewn by seamstresses to make a range of products that includes stunning scarves, tweed caps and cushions.

Discover the weaving process behind these fabulous throws in this insightful video created especially for One Aldwych by Skye Weavers:
