Perfumes and Cocktails
A new olfactory experience awaits cocktail connoisseurs in the Lobby Bar at One Aldwych. The innovative new cocktail menu has been inspired by nine sublime fragrances from Floral Street, the Covent Garden sustainable perfumery founded by one of our very own Curators, Michelle Feeney.
“Our fragrances are a combination of incredible ingredients designed to amplify your mood,” explains Michelle. “For example, London Poppy is a fresh citrus floral that has a dynamic, energetic quality, while Black Lotus, with its spicy wood notes, strikes a rebellious chord.”
Working in collaboration with Floral Street, we have crafted a line-up of cocktails reflecting the moods of the scents. “The team looked for words that described how the different fragrances made them feel and then selected hero flavours that mirrored those emotions” . So, if you want to feel spirited and fearless, the bold choice is Ylang Ylang Espresso, with its daring dashes of coffee liqueur, CBD oil and June flower liqueur. Whereas if you’re in dreamy mode, you can float away with a Wonderland Peony, its rum base mingling with blueberry cordial and Muyu Vetiver Gris liqueur (an earthy, mystical blend with accents of patchouli and cedarwood) topped with English sparkling wine.
