Rediscover a New Look

One Aldwych has opened its doors again following an extensive refurbishment and we think you’ll agree, it’s quite a transformation.

Our independent Covent Garden hotel enters a new chapter in its history with a sophisticated new look, while maintaining its playful personality and warm, dedicated service.

There are many exciting new features at One Aldwych to discover, whether you know the hotel well or are visiting for the first time.

London design company Fabled Studio has reaffirmed The Lobby Bar as a true destination bar with interiors evoking the building’s Art Nouveau and Parisien touches, as well as its former life as the headquarters of the Morning Post newspaper. Guests who have a sense of wanderlust will be drawn to The Lobby Bar’s new Spirit of Adventure cocktail collection, using renowned spirits and ingredients from around the world.

Regulars will also be pleased to see André Wallace’s iconic sculpture Boatman with Oars occupy a new home behind the bar, while Justine Smith’s papier-maché dog Spencer is kept company by new friend Lizzie, a charming puppy covered in one pound notes bearing fellow dog fan HRH Queen Elizabeth II.

Indigo restaurant now has a bright, airy feel with a colour palette that pays homage to its name, offsetting new timber panelling, copper eglomisé mirrors and bronze lamps.  Executive Chef Dominic Teague’s acclaimed dairy- and gluten-free menu is punctuated with stunning new dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the hotel’s much-loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Afternoon Tea debuts new scrumdiddlyumptious treats.

Opened in September 2016, Eneko Basque Kitchen & Bar by three Michelin-starred chef Eneko Atxa, continues to impress with its unique northern Spanish cuisine.  Guests may experience the essence of the Basque Country with an indulgent new Txoko tasting menu, as well as new sharing dishes, moreish pintxos and Gorka Izagirre’s typical Basque Txakoli, including the award-winning 42 by Eneko Atxa.

All guestrooms and suites now have an upscale residential feel, created by renowned designer Robert Angell (The Connaught, The Berkeley and Lime Wood Hotel).  Timelessly chic and filled with natural daylight, these exquisite rooms feature a calming colour palette of coral, celadon green, soft blue and lavender and are appointed with the latest technology.

Britishness is celebrated with furniture designed and made in Britain, tactile wool throws by Skye Weavers on Scotland’s Isle of Skye and ‘English Leaf’ bathroom amenities by Mitchell & Peach, a fifth generation family farm in Kent.

Not to be overlooked, The Health Club benefits from an upgraded gym, treatment rooms, sauna and steam room, as well as its 18-metre chlorine-free swimming pool with underwater music and mood lighting.

One Aldwych sets a new standard for modern luxury in London and beyond – come and experience it for yourself.
