Tate Modern (20 minute walk)

One of the most influential British artists of the 20th century, Richard Hamilton is widely regarded as a founding figure of pop art. This retrospective traces from his early exhibition designs of the fifties to his final paintings of 2011.

The Courtauld Gallery (2 minutes walk)

Court and Craft: A Masterpiece from Northern Iraq
20 February to 18 May 2014
The Courtald is making history with its first ever exhibition of art from the Islamic world; its centrepiece is a beautiful brass container intricately inlaid with scenes of courtly life in gold and silver. The exhibition explores the origins and imagery of this region's artwork, as well as the cultural context of its creation.

Strange Beauty: Masters of the German Renaissance
19 February to 11 May 2014
A fresh look at the paintings of the German Renaissance in the National Gallery Collection, this exhibition looks at the way these works were perceived in their time and how they are viewed today. It focuses on some of the period's best-known artists, including Hans Holbein the Younger, Albrecht Durer and Lucas Cranach the Elder.

The Great War in Portraits

In viewing the First World War through images of many individuals involved, The Great War in Portraits looks at the radically different roles, experiences, and, ultimately, destinies, of those caught up in the conflict.

Bailey's Stardust

Bailey's Stardust is a landmark exhibition of portraits by one of the world's most distinguished and distinctive photographers, David Bailey.

Phyllida Barlow Tate Britain Commission 2014

For more than four decades, Phyllida Barlow has made impressive, large-scale sculptural installations using everyday materials, and this commission will be her largest and most ambitious work in London to date.

The Design Museum

Daniel Weil

This exhibition focuses on the process of design, how Weil interprets sources, chooses projects, uses colours and creates form. A longstanding Partner at Pentagram, former RCA Professor of Industrial Design and Memphis participant, Weil presents his experience and philosophy as a manifesto of 'actions for designers'. 

Designs of the Year 2014
26 March to 22 June 2014
In its seventh year, this exhibition celebrates all things design, where shortlisted nominations across seven different categories are on show. A high-profile judging panel will decide a winner for each category, and one overall winner of Design of the Year will be announced in May 2014.
