Bang in the middle of London in Covent Garden, between the City and the West End – at the point where the Aldwych meets the Strand, directly opposite Waterloo Bridge. Within a ten-minute walk of 20 major theatres, the Royal Opera House and many well known London galleries including the Tate Modern, Somerset House, the National Gallery and the South Bank. 


Built in 1907 for The Morning Post Newspaper, the hotel is one of the most important Edwardian buildings in London, now protected by English Heritage. Designed by Charles Mewes and Arthur Davis, the Anglo-French partnership behind the Ritz hotels in London and Paris.


105 rooms and suites (93 rooms and 12 suites).  There are six room categories: Aldwych Rooms, Executive Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Studio Suites, Executive Suites and Deluxe Suites.  Also available are interconnecting rooms and rooms with wheelchair access.

Deluxe Suites

Suite 410 

Large circular sitting room with fantastic views of Waterloo Bridge and The River Thames. Private gymnasium, guest cloakroom and double bedroom. This suite has a Wii console with a pair of controls. A number of games are available to borrow during your stay.


The Terrace Suite

Spacious sitting room with private roof terrace and stunning views over The Aldwych and the rooftop of the Royal Opera House. Double bedroom, gymnasium, kitchen and guest cloakroom. This suite has a Wii console with a pair of controls. A number of games are available to borrow during your stay.


The Dome Suite 

Located on the top floor, the Dome Suite has a large sitting room with a unique circular dining room for 10 guests, guest cloakroom and a large double bedroom. This suite has a Wii console with a pair of controls. A number of games are available to borrow during your stay.

Lounge at One

Lounge at One is a fully-serviced, guest-only lounge located on the ground floor, opposite the main entrance. The spacious lounge is run by dedicated hosts and features comfortable sofas and a selection of books which have been selected by celebrated British designer Paul Smith from the neighbouring bookshop of world-leading publisher Rizzoli.


A menu of light dishes and snacks is available to guests throughout the day, as well as cocktails, wine and hot drinks.

Indigo at One Aldwych

One Aldwych’s fresh take on the quintessential afternoon tea celebrates the hotel’s partnership with the West End musical, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. A menu of specially selected leaf teas and infusions accompanies the sweet, savoury and sandwich items.

The Health Club

The Health Club features a state-of-the-art 150 square metre gym. Guests have 24-hour access to the gym. Guests may also use the stunning 18-metre / 59-foot chlorine-free swimming pool with underwater music and mood lighting as well as the luxury steam and sauna rooms.

Meetings & Private Dining 

One Aldwych has five flexible contemporary spaces for meetings, private dining and receptions.  Each room is fully air conditioned with state-of-the-art technology including complimentary WiFi. Friendly professional service complements a fabulous choice of inventive original food, with à la carte menus available.  One Aldwych is licensed to hold civil marriage and partnership ceremonies. There is disabled access to all Meeting and Private Dining rooms. Capacities: lunch/dinner up to 50, receptions up to 80, theatre-style meetings up to 50 and boardroom meetings up to 35.
