Shah 'Abbas: The Remaking of Iran

This major exhibition explores seventeenth century Iran through the reign and legacy of one of its most influential rulers, Shah 'Abbas I (AD 1587-1629). Demonstrating the influence of religion, art and society on Iran through the gifts he endowed to major shrines and his magnificent new capital, Isafahan.

This ground-breaking exhibition, a collaboration between the Royal Academy of Arts and the Benaki Museum in Athens, provides a grand-scale survey of 1,000 years of history.
